The Alexandra Marine & General Hospital and South Huron Hospital Association will be merging their boards starting in December.
The new single governing board will make decisions for both hospitals and as such have been working on a new strategic plan that will guide the organization over the next few years.
The Foundations for each hospital they say are vital to the work they do and will remain separate and work closely with each respective community to raise much-needed funds for patient care.
In the new year the boards say there will be consultations with community stakeholders to start discussions about what healthcare will look like for their communities over the next few decades.
