Some progress has been made in regards to the college teachers strike.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which represents the faculty, and the College Employer Council, which represents Ontario’s 24 public colleges, have agreed to enter binding interest arbitration.

The union represents the 16,000 full time faculty who have been working to rule since December and without a collective agreement since last September.

Binding interest arbitration allows a third party to find a compromise solution between the two offers submitted, rather than binding arbitration where only one offer is chosen.
