The City of Stratford is dishing out insight in regards to the community flagpole at City Hall.
Officials say in a statement a flag gets raised on the pole its noticed, not just by locals but across Canada.
The City says the Canadian flag will always fly on top of City Hall and no other flag will fly above or alongside it.
The community flagpole however in front of City hall is used for the municipal flag and other community organizations and non profits. Organizations must submit a request to the Clerk’s office which then goes to council for consideration.
If approved the flag provided by the organization will then fly on a particular day, week or month often with proclamation.
The Overdose Awareness Flag will be among those which will be raised August 31st recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day.
