There is an urgent call for blood donours across Canada as the blood supply has dropped nearly 20 per cent since June 1st.
Every week Canadian Blood Services needs around 18,000 booked blood donation appointments to keep pace with the demand which over the last 6 weeks, appointments are short by 1500-2500 every week, now requiring a draw on existing inventory to meet patient needs.
Donours of all blood types are in need to help replenish the blood supply and keep pace with hospital demand.
Locally, the next blood donour clinics are July 28th at the Stratford Rotary Complex, August 4th at the Mount Forest and District Recreation Complex and August 5th at the Wingham Columbus Centre.
Appointments can be booked here.
