West Region OPP have launched a new safety campaign in response to multiple fatal and serious collisions on the roadways.
Intersection related crashed have seen devastating consequences for individuals, families and communities.
In 2024 and 2025, 13 lives were lost in each year as a result of failure to yield and intersection related incidents which was heavy in May last year with 3 separate crashes which claimed 5 lives.
Drivers are being reminded in this campaign which runs until June 21st to come to a complete and deliberate stop at every stop sign, look in all directions before proceeding, never assume other drivers will stop or yield and be mindful of pedestrians, cyclists and approaching vehicles.
