Wellington County has celebrated the opening of the Elora Waste Facility, marking a major site upgrade improving safety, efficiency and service for residents.
The facility reopened in February after a closure which last 11 months with the grand opening lining up with National Public Works Week.
Stephen O’Neill, Solid Waste Services Committee Chair says by improving how materials are handled and increasing capacity for diversion they are helping extend the life of the landfill and enhance service for residents.
As the County’s busiest waste facility, the upgrades help ensure the site can continue to meet growing demand while supporting environmental sustainability.
