Today marks the start of the municipal election as names are being accepted for those interested in running in their local council.
Nominations for Mayor and Council will be accepted no later than August 21st with nomination papers needing to be filed with the municipal clerk.
Those who are interested in getting their campaign going cannot start until their papers have been filed with the clerks office.
While names aren’t all known yet within North Perth, Mayor Todd Kasenberg did note in this week’s meeting he was intending on retiring.
The 2022 election saw a 29 per cent voter turn out in North Perth.
