Huron County OPP are launching a new traffic campaign which starts today, lasting into Easter weekend.
The Stay Focused campaign looks to ensure all drivers are staying focused on the roads as fatal crashes to distracted driving continue to be a serious issue on West Region patrolled roads.
In 2024, police investigated 114 fatal collisions resulting 125 deaths, 45 of which were linked to inattentive driving.
This year, there have been 2 deaths on the roads. OPP will be out looking for those who are driving distracted which includes using a phone, driving with a display screen visible and careless driving.
