Wellington County OPP are investigating a sextortion scam in the area.
On December 14th at around 1pm, OPP responded to the report after a local was communicating with an unknown suspect over social media who ended up sending nude photos to the suspect.
Shortly after the victim was then threatened if money was not sent, the photos would be shared with friends and family.
The victim blocked the account and called police.
OPP are reminding the public to follow safe internet practices and never engage with strangers or share intimate images online.
