Wellington North is celebrating the re-opening of a portion of the West Luther Rail Trail after significant improvements aimed to enhance accessibility and the enjoyment of the community.
Spanning from Wellington Road 16 to the East-West Luther Townline around 5.5 kilometres of the trail has been widened to between 15-18 feet with the trail resurfaced to create a more safer and comfortable experience for walkers and cyclists.
Benches are also being installed along the trail to offer convenient spots to rest and take in views.
Mayor Andy Lennox says as a small municipality they are fortunate to have great organizations, volunteers and community members step up to partner with them on several projects.
