The Stratford Fighting Irish have released a statement in response to an incident at the Mitchell Golf Club on August 2nd.
OPP continue to investigate what is being called sexual acts which occurred during the Poppa Pie’s Adventures Golf Tournament.
The tournament was hosted by Jamie Petrie and his business, Poppa Pies.
Petrie is the former coach and general manager for the Fighting Irish but he resigned after being charged with assault stemming from a game against the Elora Rocks.
The assault charge has since been dropped.
The Fighting Irish say Mr. Petrie has had no involved in the team since the change of ownership 8 months ago and they were not in any way part of planning, promoting, sponsoring or participating in the tournament at the golf club.
