The Town of St Marys has provided an update to the renovations of the Aquatics Centre which first began in November last year.
Given unexpected recently discovered structural issues, the renovation work is now expected to keep the closure of the pool until the fall.
The pool at the Pyramid Recreation Centre was closed in November to address safety concerns caused by saltwater and high humidity with the renovations deemed essential to ensure the facility could be used safely and effectively by the community.
Stephanie Ische, Director of Community Services says while unforeseen structural challenges have delayed the timeline, the upgrades will significantly improve the facility’s functionality and longevity.
