The Town of Erin has taken on a new donation policy for both cash and in kind gifts given to the municipality.
Council on May 8th adopted the policy which defines specific definitions for donations, eligibility for donations that can be accepted, valuation and more.
Treasurer Wendy Parr says now that they have a donation policy in place they will be issuing official tax receipts for eligible donations.
In Kind gifts will be subject to a review process and be considered by the donation committee, taking into consideration a list of factors including usefulness, alignment with town priorities, maintenance costs and other risks.
