Around 45,000 baby chicks supposedly stolen from a farm in South Huron has ended with charges against a 41 year old.
In April 2023, Huron County OPP received a call after after 30,000 15 day old chicks were stolen sometime overnight on April 19th-20th.
After a revision report to police it was said 45,000 chickens reported stolen.
The total loss was reported at $139,000.
After a lengthy investigation a 41 year old of South Huron who reported the crime to police has been charged with Fraud Over $5000 and Public Mischief.
The accused was arrested on May 6th who will appear in court later this month.
