It’s Election Day in Canada as everyone across the country heads to the polls.

Polls will be open for 12 hours starting at 9am.

To find your local polling station, information can be found on your voter information card which is mailed to you after you register your current address.

Those who voting will need to prove their identity and address with things such as a drivers licence or any other Canadian issued identity document.

Those who do not have one will need to show two pieces of identification with one at least showing your current address.

Elections Canada says the best time to vote is between 10am-4pm as its the most quiet whereas the busier times are early in the morning and after 4pm.
