Perth-Wellington municipalities are receiving over $800,000 in funding for rural public transportation.

MPP Matthew Rae says $882,866 is being provided to support public transportation through the 2024-25 Gas Tax program.

The funding will be used to expand service hours, increase routes, purchase new vehicles and improve accessibility to increase transit ridership.

Rae says many people rely on public transportation in our rural communities.

The province is putting forward $380 million in 106 municipalities across Ontario to improve local transit through the Gas Tax program.
