Low Voter Turnout in Advanced Polling

Advanced polling which closed Saturday saw a low turnout across the province.

Early numbers from Elections Ontario showed 678,789 voters casted a ballot over the three days voting was open, or just over 6 per cent of eligible Ontario voters.

This down by almost 400,000 people in 2022 and just under 20,000 people from the 2018 election.

On election day on Thursday, voters will be able to cast their ballot from 9am-9pm.

The main finger being pointed on the low voter count comes down to limited time as in 2022 there was 10 advanced voting days instead of the three this year.
