Despite most of the public being against the move, the Upper Grand District School Board has approved its updated policy on naming of schools and board facilities.
Most of the feedback showed residents were not in support of the change, mainly around naming of schools and facilities and designated areas to not be named after individuals.
The policy was approved during a meeting last week without discussion taking place.
Part of the feedback received however did have staff add in a clause which allowed for existing schools and facility names to be reviewed leading to a renaming process.
