The Arthur Lions Club who have celebrated their 85th anniversary have done so by unveiling a banner honouring Dr. Samuel Park.
Dr. Park was a Charter Member of the Lions Club in 1939 who then went to serve in WWII as a medical officer.
Dr. Park was killed on April 30th 1941 when the SS Nerissa was struck by three enemy torpedoes. A ceremony was held last week at the cenotaph and the hanging of a banner of Samuel Park on Arthur’s main street.
