A Fergus resident is out $60,000 after being the victim of a crypto scam.
On October 5th just before 3:30pm, Wellington County OPP received a report of someone losing the money in the investment scam.
Investigation is still ongoing but police continue to urge caution and offering up tips to avoid being the victim of fraud.
Warning signs include investment opportunities with higher than normal returns, getting unsolicited calls and emails, someone displaying a false sense of urgency and calls from crypto investment companies.
OPP say if something sounds too good to be true, its likely because it is.
