Wellington County has celebrated 20 years of success of the Green Legacy Programme.
Over the last two decades, the program grew from a simple idea to plant 150,000 trees for the County’s 150th anniversary to becoming the largest municipal tree planting program in North America with over 3 million trees.
At Wednesdays annual Warden’s Tree Planting event which took place in Wellington North over 900 trees were planted along the river at the designated site in Arthur.
Green Legacy staff say Municipal Tree Order for 2025 have opened to continue to grow on the program.
