Ontario Minimum Wage Up to $17.20/Hour

Minimum wage workers will see an increase on their paycheques in the province.

The minimum wage has increased to $17.20 an hour, a jump of 3.9 per cent.

Minister of Labour, immigration, Training and Skills Development David Piccini says over 935,000 workers will benefit form this increase.

Under the Employment Standards Act the provinces minimum wage increases annually based on the Ontario Consumer Price Index, a measure of inflation.

Ontario is the 2nd highest province for a minimum wage, only behind British Columbia at $17.40 an hour.
