The scammers told the victim they were able to purchase tickets for the lottery from gift cards and promised prizes from the lottery.
The victim was told to go to a store and purchase $500 worth of gift cards and give them to the scammer.
The next day the victim was told against to buy gift cards but asking for $2000 worth of the cards.
The victim became suspicious at which they then reported the incident to police.
