The Grand River Conservation Authority has observed small blue-green algae bloom near the boat launch at the Belwood Lake reservoir.
The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health have been notified.
Visitors to the Belwood Lake Conservation Area are advised to keep children and pets away from the algae, don’t eat fish from the lake and not to swim in areas where you see scum or if its accumulating along the shoreline.
Boating is allowed where permitted but boaters should avoid touching the algae.
