The Stratford Fire Department is urging residents to be cautious around local watercourses with the recent string of showers.
Elevated water levels and fast flowing currents have created hazardous conditions across the Avon River.
The fire department says they’ve received multiple reports from concerned citizens around young people playing near the water of a tributary.
The department says the public should exercise caution near any bodies of water, rivers or streams as well as parents supervising children and pets.
