The Avon Maitland District School Board has approved their Mental Health and Well Being Strategic Plan throughout 2024-27.
Approved during their June 25th board meeting this acts as a plan to support AMDSB students for the next three years.
The school board has more than 35 partnerships with community organizations and continues to build with students to ensure they have access to the same types of services across the district and how to access them.
Among the new plan also includes mental health literacy which adds onto the Ministry of Educations plan to have a series of modules per grade to support the already existing mental health literacy expectations in the grade 7 and 8 health and physical education curriculum.
