Four Wellington Road 109 bridges are going to be replaced.

A series of bridges crossing the Conestogo River on Wellington Road 109 first built by the province in the 1930’s are showing signs of age and falling into a state of deterioration.

Responsibility for the bridges came into the care of the County in 1998 with some bridges not meeting the current standards or having the ability to handle flooding.

This all comes from an environmental assessment report from WSP Canada this month.

An early look at the costs for the replacements of the bridges is $16 million but the number is likely to change.
