Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is warning parents with kids in elementary school if their vaccination records aren’t updated they will be suspended for 20 days starting next week.
Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO says measles which is spreading now into the province is one of the nine diseases children are required to be vaccinated against in order to attend school.
Notices were sent home to high school students in 2023 and Mercer says only nine students in the region are not in compliance.
