A handful of local agriculture producers are getting a boost from the provincial government. $850,000 is being provided to the producers.
The funding is made possible through the province’s Food Security and Supply Chain Fund.
The funding is provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
Steve Feeny, CFO of VDB Grains who received a share says this investment in renewable energy production enhances VDB Grains ability to grow and expand the future of the business.
The funding will allow VDB Grains to move from diesel fuel to Solar Photovoltaic cell technology, reducing energy needs and operating costs.
