The Town of Minto is continuing to back their support for the reshaping of the Harriston Fairgrounds to bring a multi use sports pad to town.
What gained severe ground in February last year, Interim CAO Chris Harrow brought to council the Harriston Kinsmen was looking at bringing in the sports pad.
In that time a working group has been made which consists of various town staff departments and service groups in Harriston.
Some questions were raised regarding lighting with Matt Lubbers, Director of Community Services says this is a plan in place for the pad.
“We would look at lighting the sports pad. I don’t know if we’d look at lighting the path, we’re thinking stone dust for the trail so maybe not quite as nice as what’s at (Palmerston) Lions Heritage Park but certainly we’ve seen the benefit of lighting the sports court in Palmerston.” said Lubbers.
Council has accepted the concept design of the sports pad in principal.
