Today marks 65 years since the collapse of the Listowel Arena.
The tragedy killed 7 young boys and their coach.
The Memorial Arena was built with what had remained of the original building and was home to the Listowel Cyclones until 2017 and in 2021 was torn down.
The site of the arena since then has been marked for a memorial park which has continued to fundraise to make the park a reality.
The park, regardless of its final design will pay memory to the family and community members involved who were impacted by the 1959 tragedy.
