In the continued spirit of giving back, Shameer Khan carried a yearly tradition with his family to donate black socks to those in need to It Takes a Village.

While Khan says he’s been doing this for many years, this was the first he reached out to his friends to grow and make it big.

The idea all began as Khan’s parents celebrate their anniversary on Christmas Eve and a host a party which he looked forward to as he got to see his cousins, mainly one close to his age group who he was connected with his entire life.

Every year his mother would buy his cousin black socks and while his cousin is no longer with them, Khan carries on a legacy to give back to the communities most vulnerable with black socks.

The delivery done recently marked 754 pairs of socks with 25 meal coupons at A&W.

Khan adds the community support was very positive with Giant Tiger and Walmart employees as well as customers loving the idea of giving back.
