Palmerston & District Hospital is continuing its efforts to get an MRI machine to not only serve the town, but across the surrounding area.

A budget of $8 million is set which thus far has brought in $2 million of the goal.

The cost comes for $2 million for the MRI and another $4 million for construction costs.

The fundraising committee has kept busy to rally support which has also grown with businesses and service clubs putting on events in support.

Dan Hill, Co-Chair for the fundraising committee says this project is much more than for the Palmerston hospital but for entire area given the nearest MRI machine is more than an hour away.

“It really takes in the region. There will not be one in Listowel, Mount Forest or Fergus. The intent is to service the area not just for the Palmerston people who would go to that hospital its for the region. We’re encouraging everyone to consider supporting” said Hill.

Donations continue to be accepted as the 2023 season wraps up which can be done online from the hospital foundation website.
