Wellington County council will begin to add in finding ways to support doctor recruitment and provide financial support for the Guelph Wellington Ontario Health Team.
The health team in October requested $130,000 annually which would be split between the county, City of Guelph and Guelph Chamber of Commerce to help kick off a new physician recruitment program.
CAO Scott Wilson made note the county has not taken part in coordinated physician recruitment since 2004.
As it stands, Minto, Mapleton and Wellington North set aside $10,000 to support local family health teams for recruitment efforts.
