Newmarket Man Charged After Breaking Into Vehicle

Police have charged a 34 year old man from Newmarket with a series of offenses after breaking into a vehicle in Arthur.

Wellington County OPP responded to the theft on George Street on September 18th after someone had broken the window of the vehicle and stole multiple items.

The victim had one of their bank cards taken and says someone tried to use it.

Officers later responded to a report of a suspicious person attempting to use a card at a business on Wellington Road 109 but it was being declined which police determined was the stolen card.

OPP were able to find and arrest the suspect as a result the 34 year old has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Unauthorized use of a credit card and possession of break in instruments.

The accused will appear in Guelph court in November.
