Wellington County OPP are looking for a suspect in a good Samaritan scam.
On August 3rd a 66 year old of Centre Wellington gave $80 to help a motorist at a gas station in Fergus.
The suspect gave a sob story to the senior saying they needed money to get a disabled vehicle back home and promised repayment.
After a week of failing to get in contact with the suspect, the victim came to police.
A similar incident was also reported on August 6th when a 77 year old was approached on Wellington Road 124 and given the same story and after being unable to contact the suspect, the 77 year old went to police.
The victim is described as a white man in his 50’s around 5’11” in height with greying hair and a goatee with a medium build and driving a black SUV.
