Residents have been bringing up their concerns to Wellington North council regarding a proposed townhouse development in Mount Forest.
A conditional offer on the current land bordered by Cork Street and Melissa Crescent would see what is currently a field turn into a 34 unit townhouse development.
Planning Consultant Ron Davidson says the concerns raised by citizens mostly revolves around parking and density.
Monica Dryden, a resident on Martin Street says this work will cause a string of noise in a neighbourhood she had hoped would be rural and quiet.
“The amount of people that will be in behind us, we bought our house because we retired and came to a community that we thought was small and quiet. Now all of the sudden we’re going to have all of this massive construction” said Dryden.
Council for the time being will consider at a future meeting approving a requested zoning bylaw amendment including proposed reductions in minimum side yard setbacks and the distance between townhouses.
