EastGen alongside Gay Lea and the Ontario Dairy Youth Trust Fund is celebrating the winners of this years Brian Betts Memorial Scholarship.
Two scholarships of $1500 were given to two individuals who demonstrated leadership and selfless service for the betterment of their community.
Listowel’s Alexis Johnston and Grant Barkey of Durham East were named as the winners.
The scholarship is named after Flesherton’s Brian Betts, an accomplished dairy producer and leader in agriculture both locally and nationally.
Betts helped drive producer run organizations to work together and reduce duplication, leading to to greater efficiency and ensured better sustainability for producer owned companies.
