Perth County council is moving ahead with its stewardship program after some discussion on what is enough to respond to climate change.
A report came to council for the proposed stewardship program which would see continued support from the county for residents who are taking on environmental projects.
The original motion brought to council was to reallocate $25,000 from the Cultivating Opportunity Grant into the stewardship program and to double the investment in the 2024 budget, though council was torn on how much is too much.
At the end of the day, a total of $75,000 was to be invested, $25,000 from the opportunity grant and $50,000 in the 2024 budget.
