Commercial cannabis production has been permitted in Wellington North following a new bylaw.
A study has wrapped up after two years since it began on how to regulate for growing cannabis in the township which during the study had prohibited new commercial cannabis production.
The bylaw has brought in three new cannabis related approval for indoor growing operations, agricultural, rural-industrial and industrial.
A zoning bylaw amendment is required before cannabis can be commercially grown indoors on a property.
The new bylaw does not affect the personal production of four plants per residence.
