Ontario Health Minister Sylvia Jones says there will be 300 new spaces in paramedic programs at provincial colleges this year.
Jones says the move will bolster the paramedic workforce and make sure services remain available for Ontarians need them.
Various paramedic services have been hit with offload delays including in Wellington County with multiple code reds being issued over the past few years.
Code reds are issued when there aren’t any available paramedics at the time.
Conestoga and Fanshawe College are among the spots with expanded enrollment starting for 2023-24.
