Wellington County residents have spoken up about an increased amount of mosquitoes in the area but public health officials say its still too early to tell.
Public health says while the pests can pass on diseases such as West Nile virus and even if there is an increase in numbers to not let it stop you from enjoying times outdoors but to just take measures to limit bites.
While there could be an increase, some officials are pointing towards the fact health units just haven’t started trapping yet and nobody has any data to look at yet.
Tests in 2022 on mosquitoes saw none had tested positive for West Nile virus in Wellington, Dufferin or Guelph.
