St. Mary’s Catholic School in Listowel saw its Grade 7/8 coding team representing the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board at Skills Ontario on Monday.
The team competing in the Lego Mechanical Engineering category won 1st place.
Through the 5 hours competition, they were tasked to design, build, and present a monorail, that ran autonomously according to certain specifications.
The four team members were persistent through the entire day, demonstrated skills such as problem solving, teamwork and creative innovation to the judges.
