North Perth will begin installing new water meters as part of a major upgrade.
The new meters along with a new reading collection system will collect faster, near real time information about individual water consumption.
The upgrade will allow customers to manage and conserve water use and help detect leaks within individual properties.
Manager of Environmental Services, Mark Hackett says most of the municipalities water meters are reaching the end of their life cycle and due for an upgrade.
There will be no charge for the replacement of the water meter or installation.
