Food insecurity locally has mainly been a result due to income.

Huron Perth Public Health alongside United Way shared numbers on two research reports done at the end of last year with Perth County council.

With 740 surveys, United Way found 33 per cent of respondents said they were facing moderate of severe food insecurity mostly due to not making enough money to cover all of their monthly expenses.

Almost 90 per cent showed some have had sacrificed money to buy food to pay other expenses with nearly half not accessing a food bank.
