The St Marys Fire Department is getting new equipment with the help of a donation.
A local couple has donated back to the fire department which will allow for the purchase of a fire blanket which provides fast, effective and eco-friendly means of isolating and extinguishing car fires.
The rest of the money will go towards purchasing an inflatable fire safety house for the departments fire education program.
Fire Chief Richard Anderson says donations such as this help the fire department provide quality care whether on the ground or in the classroom.
