The federal government is looking to deliver some relief for Canadians grocery bills in the upcoming budget.

Financial assistance is expected to come for lower income Canadians struggling with the rising costs of food, known as the Grocery Rebate which will be included in today’s budget.

The benefit will be part of a GST credit once the budget is passed in the House of Commons.

The expected move could see a couple with two children get a one time payment of up to $467, a senior would receive $225 and a single person would get a payment of $234.
