An employee from a St Marys grocery stores is getting praised for stopping a scam as it was happening.
Stratford Police were contacted just after 11am on March 22nd by staff at Foodland in St Marys.
An 89 year old resident went to the store to purchase gift cards for an unknown person over the phone.
The cashier recognized the situation as a scam, asking the customer several questions but the customer still insisted on buying the cards until police and store employees convinced her it was a scam.
