Ontario is expected to not extend its temporary paid sick day program.
The government has allowed for three paid days off for workers during the pandemic which will expire at the end of this month and it’s not expected to be replaced with any other program.
This will come along with the province planning to lift some COVID-19 restrictions in long term care homes starting on March 31st.
The province says high vaccination rates among nursing home residents and staff has pushed the Chief Medical Officer of Health to begin easing some restrictions in a phased approach.
