There is an animal rescue organization in Lucknow that is in need of both donations and homes for some of the animals they have in their care.
Around 20 dogs and 50 cats are currently in their care.
Cathy from the Adopt-a-Pet Rescue says the reason for so many animals being surrendered not only just locally but nationally comes down to the pandemic.
“There were so many people who went out and bought dogs of whims, just for companionship, had them while they were small, didn’t do any vetting and now all these people are calling asking us to take them in since they’re going back to work” said Cathy.
